The Port of Skagit has put in three train stations, and plans so as to add two extra, on its path system west of Burlington.
The port’s path system contains about 10 miles of trails within the space close to Skagit Regional Airport.
Port spokesperson Linda Tyler stated the port has seen a big enhance in use of the paths for the reason that COVID-19 pandemic started.
“It’s been nice to see the neighborhood use this asset to their profit,” she stated.
Tyler stated an airport tenant and path person urged including train stations on the paths. The stations can be utilized for sit-ups, leg lifts, pull-ups and extra.
The port bought 5 train stations for $11,000, she stated.
The primary three stations have been put in Thursday by Fisher Development Group. The stations are positioned on the part of path parallel to Higgins Airport Method between Ovenell Street and Crosswind Drive.
The port expects to put in two extra stations this fall.
“It provides some selection to our trails and provides a problem for individuals who are searching for it,” Tyler stated.
