A Wisconsin man was sleeping in a car close to the interstate in De Soto early Saturday when he was awoken and arrested for marijuana.
Michael Steven Merriman, 27, of 4005 E. Lakeside Dr., Oak Creek, Wisconsin, was charged with managed substance violation, second-offense possession of a managed substance-marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The incident started about 2:45 a.m. Saturday within the 1300 block of Guthrie Road, the place an officer of the De Soto Police Division stopped to examine on a parked car with its hazard lights flashing.
The officer discovered Merriman sleeping within the entrance seat of a 2021 Chevrolet Spark with Colorado plates and woke him up.

Merriman allegedly advised the officer that each one the objects had been “for private use,” and he mentioned that he purchased all of it “in Colorado to take again to Wisconsin with him.”
