JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Saturday was the fourth anniversary of Newport Police Lieutenant Patrick Weatherford’s demise after he was shot and killed within the line of responsibility.
Griffin Coaching Middle in Jonesboro honored his legacy, with a hero exercise.
In attendance had been Weatherford’s spouse and fellow officers.
Callie Talley, the co-founder of the gymnasium and the Arkansas Code 3 Response Basis, says this hero exercise has a particular connection to her.
“Patrick’s funeral was really the first-ever police officer funeral I ever attended,” Talley stated. “And it was only a mind-blowing expertise, it was devastating. So, this one meant extra to me, it was the primary hero exercise we ever wrote. This was the second yr Talley and her husband, Trent, held a hero exercise for Lt. Weatherford.
